Sharia and Children

Americans were shocked to learn the insidious fact that little girls were having sex with their elderly “husbands” at the FLDS compound in Texas. Not to mention the polygamy and beatings. There should be no shock, this was all well known. This religion’s prophet Warren Jeffs not only practiced such but also preached the morality of it to his followers. He is doing time for marrying a 14 year old to her cousin. We also have women such as Kathy Jo Nicholson who have freed themselves of the Church’s tyranny and have bravely come forward to recount their experiences.

They’ve never experienced the freedom to think for themselves or to freely question their leaders. They’ve been told to keep “sweet,” to sacrifice their feelings for the greater “good.” They’ve been taught that perfect obedience leads to perfect faith. When you are taught that it is a sin to think or question things, you begin to function in total obedience to the will of another. It is as if you are a robot made to do the bidding of your husband and the Prophet.
Sound familiar? That’s because we have things like this going on all the time in Sharia governed countries.

A Yemeni court on Tuesday granted a divorce to an eight-year-old girl whose unemployed father forced her into an arranged marriage this year, saying he feared she might be kidnapped.

"I am happy that I am divorced now. I will be able to go back to school," Nojud Mohammed Ali said, after a public hearing in Sanaa's court of first instance.

In response to a question from Judge Mohammed al-Qadhi, he acknowledged that the "marriage was consummated, but I did not beat her." What constitutes child abuse under Sharia? There seems to be some debate leaving each country’s Mullahs to decide.

Islam also has courageous women exposing the plight of little girls under Sharia. Ghada Jamsheer is one.

Announcer: Some people say that Ghada Jamsheer is Sunna muslim, so she opposes a type of marriage that is in the Islamic law of the Shiat muslims

Ms. Jamsheer : Approved by the Islamic Islamic law?

Announcer: Yes it is approved by the shiat Islamic law

Ms. Jamsheer : The Islamic law approved the marriage for pleasure? Approved this characterization of enjoyment? Let me explain. They have the Enjoyment of the thighs The enjoyment of touching The enjoyment with the breasts The enjoyment with a young girl The enjoyment with a young girl…do you know what this means? It means they can enjoy themselves with the little girl who is two years old, three years old, four years old,

Announcer: Let us not get into this..

Ms. Jamsheer: Let me explain it to you

Announcer: don’t explain to me

Ms. Jamsheer: This is against the rights of children This is considered sexual abuse of a young child. Enjoying oneself with the thighs, what does this mean? This means enjoyment with the toddler who is one year old, or even months old

Update: Another form of child abuse:

An eight-year-old girl was strapped with remote-controlled explosives and used as a human bomb by Iraqi insurgents in a blast that killed an Iraqi commander earlier today.

I totally agree with you. It makes me sick to see how many spew womens rights etc, and refuse to acknowledge this sickening unjust evil way that women are treated under Islam.

To see the truth would mean that the big bad ole' USA was right, and the global handholding only will get ones head chopped off, or to be killed for the family's honor, oh and my favorite, to be draped in a bedsheet from head to toe. Maybe on the weekends that would be ok(as I would not have to shower or do laundry! No I should not be light with such truth.

Funny, my liberal, progressive sister says that I am suppressed here in NM, because I stay home and *keep* house. How blind we have become. I drive, spend, and do as I please, oh and my 12 year old daughter is not on the table to pawn off to some sick old man. Guess things will never change.

(Hey, the polygamy thing is huge by the way, as we lived in a border town in Nevada(to Utah),...in the home school group there were several hundred children of polygamy, and the system did nothing. Now Texas is going to bankrupt itself with all the attorney fees, Childprotective service fees, and foster care...when all that needed to be done, was to force the LDS church to make polygamy wrong...as it is still in the Doctrine of Covenants(a book comparable to the Bible).

Then the little compounds...Kingston, Jeffs, and on and on would not be able to pull these women in, as theFLDS backs their abuse in the standard works...Book of Mormon, Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price.

OH well rambling on a sunny beautiful NM day.
sorry!!!
Jennifer

Come on Jen, what do you really think? One thing I might add is the huge welfare fraud that exists in polygamist’s families. One woman is the wife; the others are unwed mothers on welfare.

If this had happened in Great Britain, they could have gotten welfare benefits without pretending to be unwed moms. Or is that only for Muslims. According to Debbie Schlussel, there is massive welfare fraud over in Dearborn due to unacknowledged multiple wives in Islamic households.

It is so hard to understand how the women can watch this happen to their daughters. I watched the polygamy among the indians and I never could figure out their complacency for it, but when it is all you know...

JM, did the Yekwana have "lost boys"?

No, and now days polygamy is not looked on as a wise choice. The men their have to work very hard to provide food for their offspring and so they limit themselves to 2 wives. I did know one family of 4 wives, all sisters.
The younger men really don't marry more than one, although they may have a few 'affairs' along the way which they hope do not produce offspring.

One has to wonder how much of the positive trend toward monogamy was due to your family’s ministry. One has to wonder what the current trend is without you. Having to support more than one wife sure can put a brake to such practices but unfortunately it sounds like most States are afraid to make the fathers accountable.

Rancher,
Actually we never taught against polygamy. It would create a ton of husbandless women and fatherless children. All need to be cared for. Venezuelans often have the Mujer and the casita ( the mistress) Girls aspire to be The Mujer but to a wealthy man will be content to be the casita.
Which proves all human kind is basically the same with culural variations.

You didn't preach against it except by example I'll bet.

Great conversation back and forth here via comments.
The photo you shared sickened me. God help us.
